has gloss	eng: People with associative agnosia fail in assigning meaning to an object, animal or building that they can see clearly. Most cases have injury to the occipital and temporal lobes and the critical site of injury appears to be in the left occipital-temporal region, often with involvement of the splenium of the corpus callosum. The clinical "definition" of the disorder is when an affected person is able to copy/draw things that they cannot recognize. The disorder appears to be very uncommon in a "pure" or uncomplicated form and is usually accompanied by other complex neuropsychological problems such as impaired language or memory. The affected individual may not realize that they have a visual problem and may complain of becoming "clumsy" or "muddled" when performing familiar tasks such as setting the table or simple DIY.

has gloss	nld: Associatieve agnosie is een vorm van een visuele agnosie. Een visuele agnosie is de medische benaming voor het onvermogen tot het herkennen van bepaalde afbeeldingen en kleuren. Bij een associatieve agnosie ziet de persoon die hieraan lijdt wel een afbeelding of tekening, maar kan deze persoon niet benoemen wat de afbeelding is en kan deze het ook niet in het geheugen opslaan. Deze neurologische aandoening komt voor bij mensen met een temporale (zie figuur), meestal linkszijdige laesie. De klinische definitie van de aandoening is dat iemand tekeningen kan maken (of natekenen) van objecten die hij/zij niet herkent. De aandoening komt zelden puur voor: meestal is er een samenspel van meerdere neurologische stoornissen.
