The film stars Vinod Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Rajinikanth, Dimple Kapadia, Kimi Katkar, Sangeeta Bijlani and Kader Khan. The film was dubbed and released in Tamil in March 2009, eighteen years after its original release.In the Tamil version, Rajinkanth is considered the main hero, ARASAN. Box-office Both versions were major hits for Rajinikanth. The Tamil version received positive reviews, claiming this film as Rajinikanths comeback after Kuselan and his last normal film before Sultan the Warrior and Endhiran. Currently, this film is Rajinikanths highest grosssing dubbed film, and the highest grossing dubbed version of an Asian film of the year.
