Her articles appear mainly in the Daily Mail newspaper and cover political and social issues; she has also written for The Guardian, and is a regular panelist on the BBC Radio 4 programme The Moral Maze and BBC One's Question Time. She has authored four major books, including most recently World Turned Upside Down in 2010. In 2003, The Guardian wrote of her that her "trademarks of social concern, pessimism about modern Britain and seemingly absolute certainty have made her – against stiff competition – arguably the most high-profile and prolific British pundit on moral and political matters."
