has glosseng: Raices de Esperanza or Roots of Hope is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-partisan service organization, founded in 2003 that through cultural and academic initiatives, seeks to unite Cuban youths living on the island with those living in the United States. They send out Action Alerts that bring attention to injustices done by the Cuban government, host yearly conferences around the United States and have facilitated over 60 live conference calls between youths in the United States and youths in Cuba. The organization is made up of about 2,500 students and young professionals representing 87 schools and 28 affiliated campus organizations across the United States. The average age of Raices members is 21 years old.
