It is a mirror image of the coaster by the same name at Six Flags Over Texas and uses a linear induction motor (LIM) launch system to accelerate riders from 0 to 70 mph in 3.8 seconds. And like its mirror-image twin, Mr. Freeze was slated to open in 1997 but was delayed until 1998 due to troubles with the LIM launch system. When it did open, this coaster had over-the-shoulder restraints (commonly called OTSRs), but these were replaced with individual ratcheting lap bars for the 2002 season.
